The primary focus of the post-purchase experience is all about transforming your buyer into a full-fledged customer and eventually, one of your amazing 1,000 true fans!

Menekse Stewart, my go-to marketing & Ai specialist taught me about the difference between a buyer and a customer.

According to Menekse, a buyer is simply someone who makes a one-time purchase from you and doesn't return.

On the other hand, a customer is someone who not only buys a product from you, but also develops a connection with your brand.

If you give your buyers the opportunity to get to know, like, and trust you, you can turn these buyers into repeat customers.

Having just buyers isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it requires a lot more effort to constantly find new buyers compared to having customers who keep coming back for more.

Therefore, it's crucial for small businesses like ours to foster authentic and genuine relationships if we want our buyers to become loyal customers.

I've stumbled upon two companies that perfectly illustrate what we're talking about. These brands have totally nailed it!

The first company is a business I purchased mushroom coffee from (it's actually really yummy) ☕️ and the second a probiotic I decided to try to see if it would help reduce hot flashes. (yeah, I know, TMI) 🥵

But, here's the thing...these companies didn't just stop at the sale. They took me on a journey that made me feel a genuine connection with them.

And the crazy thing is, I didn't interact with any one person, just their brand.

That's some serious customer magic right there and I intend to learn from it.

So, here's the thing...

How can we create that same connection with a buyer and turn them into raving fans of our business?

Challenge accepted!

In Beyond Your E-Shop, we're taking on this challenge through lessons, strategic planning and discussion about email marketing and building a community.

Have you ever come across the 1,000 True Fans Theory by Kevin Kelly?

This article explains it way better than I can, but basically, it's what we're aiming for.

Think about this...there are a whopping 8 billion people out there in the world. So, if your goal is to build a tribe of 1,000 true fans for your business, doesn't that feel totally doable and realistic?

It should because it totally is. You just need to tap into your own uniqueness and find ways to genuinely connect with people.

Just like in selling anything, it's a process of trial and error. But as you keep doing what you love and sharing it with the world, your fans will start stepping forward, one by one. It's a journey worth taking!
