Course Progress (7%)

When I first started creating & selling printables at the end of 2018, there was one aspect I didn't fully grasp: the post-purchase experience.

Now, don't get me wrong, Michelle Rohr did cover it in the very first class I took to kickstart my business, Passive Income Planner Girl

However, at the time, investing in a platform like Teachery (that's the platform you're on now) didn't seem all that crucial.

What I did know, was that providing a simple and seamless way for customers to receive their orders was essential.

So, I made sure to send them a simple PDF with a download link. Check! ✅

I also understood the importance of adding an email opt-in to further connect with my new customers and share more about myself and my business. Check! ✅

Now, you might be wondering why on earth I would finally consider using Teachery when I thought I had everything under control. As a self-proclaimed frugal tight a%$ (we all have our thing, right?), it just didn't make sense to me initially.

Fast forward to 2022, when I decided to create my first online course, Grow Your E-ShopMy brilliant mastermind partner, Michelle Simpkin, had to convince me until she turned blue in the face to invest in Teachery for my course.

By that time, I had been selling printables for three years in Loving Mondays and had just launched my second shop, A Planner to Remember, where I began creating and selling digital products.

It was during this period that things started getting a bit chaotic.

You see, bundling products in my shops is my bread and butter. It's how I make the amount of money I do from selling downloadable products.

However, the more items I added to my bundles, the worse the post-purchase experience became for my customers. It got to the point where I had to include lengthy instructions like, "Follow these 15 steps to Download Your Planners". 😳

Imagine being super excited about a purchase, only to find out you have to go through 15 steps just to download it.

Yeah, not the best experience, right?

Well, that was me without Teachery. Big lesson learned!

So, why is Teachery such a game-changer in this story?

Well, I finally got around to developing a customer hub in 2023, which I affectionately & uniquely call The Planner Vault 😉, to enhance my customers' post-purchase experience.

I'm a little embarrassed to admit it took me this long, but you know me—always keepin' it real.

And let me tell you, ever since then, my customers have been absolutely thrilled with their experience with my business.

Honestly, that should have been my top priority from the start, but it kind of caught me off guard as my shops grew and I had to go through a bit of an awkward phase because of it.

And to be totally honest, I haven't even finished setting up a proper hub for Loving Mondays yet.

I was just trying out the first one to see how much of a difference it would make while I focused on other things. But now I know for sure.

My customers have spoken loud and clear.

This next review is one of my favorites...

Have you noticed how these sellers are raving about not just the product, but the whole experience? It's incredible!

And, when people can see you on video they really start to develop that know-like-trust factor immediately. But, don't worry if you're not comfortable on camera yet. We'll talk about that in Beyond Your E-Shop.

I can only imagine how many more sales and glowing reviews I would have had if I had listened to Michelle Rohr back in 2018.

But, hey, I can only move forward and share my experience, hoping others won't take as long as I did to absolutely wow their customers.

So now, consider taking some time today and really dig into your customers' post-purchase experience.

We all put so much effort into creating amazing products, but sometimes we forget about the experience after they hit that buy button. Imagine the impact if we focused on that too!
